I wouldn't live on campus after freshman year.
The dorms could all really use AC.
The dorms are reasonably spacious, and you are free to decorate them pretty much however you would want. The bathrooms are regularly cleaned, and proximity to nice people is nice. The only downside is that most of the dorms are kinda far from the academic buildings.
My favorite restaurant is Sycamore Deli- Tugboat Tuesday's are a must.
It honestly is so good! I work in the dining halls during the school year and still love all of the food!
I really like PK's. There are also alot of other options if you don't want on-campus food.
Blacksburg is an amazing town. It is hard to meet people I don't like.
There's nothing else to do other than Tech. But everything else is great.
Great local area, but you really need to get out of Blacksburg and Christiansburg to experience what the area is really like.
Everyone I have met is very kind. I'll probably rush.
Even people who don't love sports attend games and are spirited!
Greek life here allows you to find true friends.
Hokie football is the best part of the year!
There is a decent amount of diversity in most areas here (and they mingle well), but there are more than 0 religious people unfortunately.
I'm not a member myself. It's very expensive, which makes it hard for some people to join. If you aren't in a sorority it's like you can't get into parties.
Compared to my old school, the opportunities here are endless. I feel like my degree really does mean something from here and my chances of getting a job upon graduation are much higher.
From resume creation/edition to mock interviews, the career center is very helpful. There are constant meet and greets with varieties of companies and multiple expos throughout the year.
There are job fairs going on all the time on campus.
Sometimes I think students are paranoid because of the past.
Many people use, usually alcohol and/or cannabis and coffee, and the only people who ever have problems (throwing up, ODing, etc) are new users. Peer pressure is almost non-existent, and if it weren't for legalities more people would be safe.
I've been safe so far.
