It is not the absolute best however it is a college house/dorm so it is good for that.
The rooms are extremely small except for Brody neighborhood. Other than that, they seem pretty average. Laundry rooms are nice and maintenance is kept up. It is also pretty expensive. Every neighborhood is about the same distance to the center of campus. It depends on what your major is on where you want to live for convenience.
Campus housing is all good quality and constantly updated, nothing exceptionally good or bad.
I love the off campus dinning options, only if there was a chick-fil-a
The food is great it offers food from all cultures which is great. They also have options for vegans, vegetarians and you average american whole loves them some fries.
You can get food pretty much all day delivered until about 4 am
parties are a blast, and you can always find one.
Most parties occur at frat houses.
Always one parties during the weekends.
There are frat parties, apartment and house parties.
Always something to do if you want to
I mean its Michigan State University, some kids just come hear to party and leave when they are kicked out.. but at the end of the day if you don't like to party there are plenty of good people who have other things to do with their time then play beer-pong.
I am not apart of Greek Life and never wanted to be, however i have friends who are and they enjoy it a lot!
Michigan State is a top D1 school so the athletics are fantastic.
Nobody can argue with Sparty. MSU football games are generally are very loud and exciting. There is a lot of history in the stadium and the team.
Michigan State is one of the few school with a top 10 football program and a top 10 basketball program and it shows in life on campus. Also, intermurals are fun, inclusive, and widely offered.
Greek life seems pretty typical at Michigan State.
I believe MSU has some of the most fervent fans in the nation. School spirit is huge.
MSU is near EVERYTHING. It's also really convenient transportation by the city buses and school buses. Having a semester bus pass is the way to go.
There are a lot of places to go and visit. It was a lot of options
Amazing local area the area north of campus is always alive and there are always things to do/ places to go. Diverse shopping
For James Madison students there seems to be a large amount of internships available all the time. Alumni often visit to discuss possible career paths.
A bit pricey but worth it
The value of your degree here depends on what degree program you are in. In my field it is quite easy to earn a internship or job opportunity as long as you work for it. I know in some fields around campus it is hard to find a job or internship in that field.
THe campus has many great Health and Safety options and programs. There is a hospital on campus where we get 3 free visits as students. Condoms are supplied by RA's. Students are encouraged to be active and healthy.
Security on campus is average. Last year, I as well as a friend of mine experienced some instances of theft. Crimes do occur on campus but not continiously. One must take protective measures to prevent them.
I feel very safe at Michigan State. Police and security are present all the time
